Last week was the first time I dined at Alden and Harlow in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. In sum, it was amazing. The only thing not pictured that we ate was a plate of root beer glazed ribs (it was a special). And it was the only plate that we felt did not live up to the deliciousness of all the other plates. I’m not saying it was bad. It just wasn’t stellar. Everything in the following pictures though? I WANT TO EAT IT ALL AGAIN AND AGAIN.
Quick comment – the Ah house bitter was really interesting. We all had trouble describing the taste. The best that I could come up with was that it reminded me of Chinese medicinal drinks/soups except it doesn’t taste medicinal at all. Not helpful, right? It was good though. I can almost see myself ordering one except for the part where I don’t really drink at all.
That butternut squash hummus might have been my favorite thing to eat all night.
That raisin butter was pretty rad too.
Holy cow, there was a lot of butter in the croissant toasts!
And more butter from the pound cake to finish off our meal!
Final note – there were four of us total at our table. We ate everything family style.
